Penalties imposed by the FIA stewards on Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto for failing to slow sufficiently under yellow flags left both Alpine drivers out of the points. According to document 84, Gasly broke the rules in a double yellow flag zone, earning a post-race stop-and-go penalty and two penalty points on his super licence. Colapinto, under document 85, did not reduce his speed in a single yellow sector and dropped to 15th after a 10-second time penalty. A stern verdict. The rulings promoted Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson, who had started from the pit lane, to seventh and six points.

Haas debutant Ryō Hirakawa, the Japanese driver drafted in to replace Esteban Ocon, crossed the line in 13th but was promoted to tenth after the penalties, scoring his first point at the age of 32. Gabriel Bortoleto moved up to eighth to collect four points for Audi, while Isack Hadjar took ninth for Red Bull. Victory went to Max Verstappen, who finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton and newly crowned world champion Kimi Antonelli.
