AC Milan are in talks with French midfielder Adrien Rabiot over a new contract running until 2030. His current deal expires in 2028, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport the club's hierarchy plans to extend it by two years. The Frenchman has scored three goals and provided two assists in his last four Serie A matches. He has become the first Milan midfielder since Hakan Calhanoglu, in December 2020, to be involved in a goal in four consecutive games. With four goals, Rabiot is the top-scoring midfielder in Serie A this season.
Rabiot did not mince his words after the win over Atalanta, publicly criticising his team-mates for losing concentration in the second half. "With a second half like that, the first half, which was beautiful, means nothing. Fortunately, we won, but I don't know if we deserved it that much. We cannot collapse like that," he said. Club owner Gerry Cardinale has spoken highly of the player's leadership qualities.
