Massimiliano Allegri has put his touchline clash with Kevin De Bruyne during Napoli's Champions League defeat by Villarreal down to a language misunderstanding. The Napoli boss flatly denied reports that the Belgian midfielder had deliberately ignored his tactical instructions.
"I spoke Italian, he spoke English, then I started speaking in English and he wanted to understand in Italian. The boy is intelligent, he understood," Allegri explained. He also highlighted a boost for his defence, with Filippo Marianucci and Sam Beukema back in training after three months out. Napoli are now preparing for their next Serie A fixture, against Venezia.
