ESPN's Sam Tighe has ranked the 10 best summer signings based on the opening weeks of the 2026-27 Premier League season, and his No 1 is a surprise: Konstantinos Tzolakis, the Greek goalkeeper who joined newly promoted Hull City. Signed for £17 million, Tzolakis has kept three clean sheets in five league games and saved a penalty at Newcastle United, although Hull still lost that game 2-1. Second place goes to Liverpool's French centre-back Jérémy Jacquet. Since arriving from Rennes, he has filled the role vacated by Ibrahima Konaté, with data firm Gradient rating him the league's best one-on-one defender so far.
Third place belongs to Elliot Anderson, Manchester City's £116 million signing from Nottingham Forest, who already tops City's charts for tackles and interceptions. Brighton's Luka Vušković, Brentford's Mamadou Sangaré, Chelsea's Morgan Rogers, Leeds United's Tarik Muharemović, Aston Villa's Zion Suzuki, Arsenal's Christos Tzolis and Liverpool's Ronald Araújo complete the top 10.
