World champion Lando Norris has tied his future to McLaren until at least the end of 2030, even though his existing contract still had more than a year left to run. Rival teams came calling, yet the 26-year-old Briton never even wanted to look elsewhere. He said no. The new regulations blunted the team's pace at the start of this season, but that did nothing to shake his commitment. If anything, the difficulties doubled his desire to keep working with them. Back-to-back victories in the last two races, in Hungary and the Netherlands, have cut the gap to championship leader Kimi Antonelli to 83 points. "I don't want to fight through moments with anyone else," the driver himself says.
That unshakeable bond dates back to 2019, when Norris made his Formula One debut. For years they fought together to climb out of poor results, before claiming the constructors' championship twice in a row, in 2024 and 2025. Team principal Andrea Stella regards that rare unity as the key to their success. Norris even plans to end his career at the team, and on the demanding road to defending his title, he has backed his loyalty with an unconditional long-term guarantee.
