An appeal court has reinstated Isack Hadjar's maiden career podium from the Monaco Grand Prix, yet the 21-year-old has been forced to sit out three consecutive races for Red Bull with a wrist injury. The problem, picked up during the summer break, ruled the young driver out of the rounds at Zandvoort, Monza and Madring, Madrid's new circuit. Liam Lawson took his seat in the RB22 and delivered the team's best result with sixth place at Madring, leaving him just 12 points behind Hadjar in the overall standings. Lawson admitted that preparing mentally is far from easy when he never quite knows which car he will be driving.
Despite the importance of the races ahead, the team's leadership is wary of rushing Hadjar back. "If he feels close to 100 per cent, we will take the chance, but if his recovery is not yet complete, his health comes first," Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies explained. Consequently, the team will make a final call within a week on whether Hadjar lines up at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
