Golden State Warriors starting guard Brandin Podziemski has signed a five-year, $110 million contract extension with the club. The fully guaranteed deal includes a mutual option for the 2031-32 season and a trade kicker. The 23-year-old, selected 19th overall in the 2023 draft by general manager Mike Dunleavy, will earn $5.6 million this season before his salary rises to $18.9 million next season. Combined with Stephen Curry's $10 million pay cut, the agreement keeps between $55 million and $60 million of cap space available to the Warriors for 2027-28.
"For me it shows a sign of faith and trust on their end, wanting me here. I think for me I just owe it right back to them. They're putting their trust and faith in me so I got to do the same and play that way each and every night," Podziemski said of his new deal. He played in all 82 games last season, averaging 13.8 points, and established himself as one of the league's elite rebounders at the guard position. "Brandin is a huge part of our team. He makes people better. He understands the game," said head coach Steve Kerr, full of praise for the youngster.
