Three fighters missed weight at the official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 122, with Ismael Bonfim producing the most disastrous result after coming in 7.5 pounds over the limit. Under the promotion's ruling, Bonfim forfeits 25% of his purse, although the bout remains on the card. Meanwhile, reigning middleweight champion Sean Strickland has issued the UFC with a public ultimatum over low pay. "I will not fight or sign any contract until I get this figured out," Strickland declared.
Strickland has derailed his planned title fight with Nassourdine Imavov and says he has lost his desire to compete in MMA. The champion is demanding better financial terms and, failing that, is threatening to box Jake Paul instead. In light of the situation, the UFC has scheduled a fight for the symbolic BMF title between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes.
