Haas F1 Team have officially dropped Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the season. During second practice at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Ocon clashed with race engineer Laura Mueller after demanding soft tyres instead of mediums, in a bid to show his pace and win Valtteri Bottas's seat at Cadillac. The radio exchange was followed by a serious confrontation with team principal Ayao Komatsu. L'Équipe reported that the meeting ended in a physical altercation, a claim Ocon categorically denied on social media. In the view of Sky Sports pundits Ted Kravitz and Jenson Button, Ocon's Formula 1 career is over. A career in ruins. Ferrari Driver Academy member Rafael Camara will replace him at the São Paulo Grand Prix, after Ryo Hirakawa stood in for him in Mexico.
