Rafael Camara, the 21-year-old Brazilian, has signed a multi-year contract with Haas and will race in Formula 1 from the 2027 season. The American outfit have now brought in a second product of Ferrari's driver academy, with Camara set to partner Oliver Bearman. Haas's close ties with the Italian giants, who also supply their power units, have raised questions about the team's independence. Yet team principal Ayao Komatsu flatly rejected the idea that Haas are a Ferrari junior team. "At no point Ferrari pressurised us... We choose drivers by ourselves completely," he insisted, adding that he made the call personally alongside team owner Gene Haas.

With Lewis Hamilton turning 42 in January and Charles Leclerc's contract also in focus, the duel between Bearman and Camara is shaping up as the main audition for a future race seat at Ferrari.
