Leny Yoro, the 20-year-old French defender signed for €62 million, is short of game time at Manchester United. He made his first Premier League start of the season in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham, where manager Michael Carrick played him out of position at right-back before taking him off in the 59th minute. "Leny Yoro is a very good player, and he's very highly regarded at Manchester United... The problem is, there isn't really a place for him in the side at the moment unless he's going to fill in at right-back," former United chief scout Mick Brown said of the situation.
Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Aiden Heaven are all ahead of the Frenchman in the centre-back pecking order, while Matthijs de Ligt will reclaim a starting place once he recovers from injury. If Yoro does not get adequate playing time, United will consider sending him out on loan in January or selling him to Paris Saint-Germain for a big fee. His current contract with the club has less than three years to run.
