The Atlanta Dream beat the New York Liberty, the 2024 champions, 85-83 in Game 3 of their semi-final series to complete a 3-0 sweep and reach the WNBA Finals for the first time in 13 years. Angel Reese was the driving force behind the win with 22 points, nine rebounds and two three-pointers. "I knew I wanted to be here... We're all here for a reason," Reese said after the game.
The contest was played with extreme aggression, and a double technical foul was called in the second quarter after Reese clashed with Liberty centre Jonquel Jones. Reese also became embroiled in a verbal spat with Sabrina Ionescu. Tellingly, Atlanta have not lost a single game this season when Reese has made at least one three-pointer.
