With 65 of 74 first-place votes from the media panel and 713 points, Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson has been named the WNBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for 2026. It is the fifth MVP award of her career and her third in succession. "15-year-old A'ja wasn't sitting up here dreaming about being a five-time MVP... She was just dreaming about surviving this world," an emotional Wilson said after collecting the award.
Across 41 games this season, Wilson averaged 26.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. The achievement puts the Las Vegas Aces leader level with Michael Jordan and Bill Russell, with only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar having won more MVP titles in basketball history. The 30-year-old has been named the league's best player in more than half of her nine seasons.
