WrestleMania 42 just wrapped up in Las Vegas, and the entire world is already asking one question — where is the next one? The answer is historic: WrestleMania 43, in 2027, will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will be the first time WWE's flagship event is held outside North America.

What Happened at WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42 took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18-19, 2026. It was the second consecutive year the stadium hosted the event, after WrestleMania 41 in 2025. The two-night show is always the most important date on WWE's calendar — where top stars compete for the biggest prizes, and fans travel from around the world to attend.

WrestleMania 43 — Riyadh, 2027

The announcement came on September 12, 2025, at a press conference featuring WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque and Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh, alongside Hall of Famers The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and active stars including Seth Rollins, Logan Paul, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair. The specific venue has not yet been revealed.

It will be only the third WrestleMania held outside the United States — the previous two were both in Toronto (WrestleMania VI in 1990 and WrestleMania X8 in 2002) — but the first ever outside North America. The decision is controversial, particularly because of Saudi Arabia's human rights record and because cities like London had been publicly campaigning to host. But Saudi Arabia has been a major WWE partner since 2018, when the two sides signed a 10-year, $1 billion deal. WrestleMania 43 will be the 17th event WWE has staged in the country under that partnership, following the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh — won by Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan — which became the first of WWE's "Big Four" pay-per-views to take place there.

Why 2027, Not 2028?

Here is the part the headlines often miss: WrestleMania 43 was originally meant to happen in Nashville, at the New Nissan Stadium. WWE had been planning for years to bring the event to the Tennessee Titans' new home if construction was complete in time, and Nashville's tourism group has confirmed this was the original plan.

WWE then internally penciled in WrestleMania 44 in 2028 for Saudi Arabia — not 43. So why the swap?

According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, Alalshikh personally pushed to host WrestleMania 43 specifically, because 2027 marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State. The symbolism of staging WWE's biggest event in that anniversary year was non-negotiable for the Saudi side, and WWE accepted. Nashville is now being looked at for a future edition.

When

Exact dates have not been announced. According to WrestleVotes Radio (April 2026), the targeted date is the weekend of March 27, 2027, which would coincide with the end of Riyadh Season — the months-long entertainment festival that hosts the event. The weekend of April 10 is on the table as an alternative.

There is also a question of format: reports suggest WrestleMania 43 could return to a one-night event for the first time since 2020. WWE's U.S. broadcast partner ESPN, however, prefers the two-night format that has been standard since 2020, and Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reports that the two-night structure is the most likely outcome.

WrestleMania 44 — Indianapolis or New Orleans?

The site for WrestleMania 2028 has not been confirmed. The leading candidates are Indianapolis and New Orleans.

Indianapolis has a partnership deal with WWE that explicitly includes hosting a future WrestleMania. New Orleans, meanwhile, was originally scheduled to host WrestleMania 42 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome before that event was moved to Las Vegas — so the city has been promised a future edition as well.
