Viktor Gyokeres, the 28-year-old Swedish striker who joined Arsenal from Sporting for £64 million in the summer of 2025, is ready to leave the club in January for two reasons. Despite his 97 goals in 102 matches in Portugal, he has lost the battle with Kai Havertz for a place up front in north London and is yet to start a Premier League game this season.
His main frustrations are a lack of playing time and the club's determined pursuit of Julian Alvarez, which has only intensified the competition for places. Arsenal will agree to sell Gyokeres only if they bring in a new striker in January.
