UFC 332 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City produced nine first-round knockouts and 11 finishes in all, an all-time record in the organisation's history. Natalia Silva claimed the vacant women's flyweight title, beating Wang Cong by unanimous decision over five rounds. With the belt relinquished by Valentina Shevchenko through injury, some pundits felt Silva's victory lacked the authority of a true champion's. UFC president Dana White was having none of it. "One of the bigger problems is, and we face this going into certain cards, the so-called experts in the sport don't know anything about fighting," he told the press conference.
The night's biggest sensation was 28-year-old Payton Talbott, who flattened two-time former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo with a first-round technical knockout after two minutes and nine seconds. Straight after the stoppage, Talbott called out former bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley. "I just mopped the floor with two champions, back-to-back. And I want another one," he declared. Elsewhere on the card, Roberto Soldić made a winning UFC debut against Khaos Williams, while 41-year-old veteran Court McGee bowed out with a knockout defeat by Eric Nolan in his farewell fight.
