Walker Kessler, the 25-year-old centre who joined the Los Angeles Lakers in a sign-and-trade deal, picked a side between Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic after playing 31 minutes in a pre-season game against the Denver Nuggets. The former Utah Jazz man posted six points and six rebounds before assessing the rivalry between the two European stars at his press conference.

"There's a reason why he is who he is. He's arguably the best big in the league and best player in the league. I would argue Luka is better for obvious reasons, but he's an exceptional player," Kessler said of the Serbian centre. In the same respectful tone, he added of his Slovenian team-mate: "He's a competitor... He wants to win more than anything."
