Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Brazil midfielder Andrey Santos, paying Chelsea £50 million for the 22-year-old.
Santos, who operates in central and holding midfield roles, has signed a five-year contract with the Red Devils that runs until June 2031.
Chelsea, where he had been on the books since 2023, will not simply pocket a flat fee. The deal also hands the London club a 10% cut of any future sale.
He has been out on loan three times — first at Vasco da Gama, then Nottingham Forest, and most recently two seasons at Strasbourg in France — yet United remain convinced of his potential.
In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Santos managed one goal and picked up four yellow cards across 27 appearances, not all of them full games.
An investment in the future. For United, it is a long-term reinforcement of the midfield; for Chelsea, a healthy financial return on a player they developed themselves.
