Signed for £45 million four years ago, Gabriel Jesus has been sold by Arsenal to Barcelona for a strikingly low £8.6 million.
The Brazilian forward scored 32 goals in 123 appearances for the London club, but a serious knee injury last season limited him to just three Premier League starts. The decline was sharp. The move to his new club fulfilled a long-held wish, and he made no attempt to hide it. "Now, I can be here. It's a dream for me," he said. The switch will either draw a line under an injury-ravaged spell, or confirm once and for all that the Brazilian's best years are behind him.
