Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has hit back at rumours linking Christian Horner with a move to the team's Maranello base, branding the speculation a frustrating source of tension. Horner, the Briton formerly in charge at Red Bull, has made no secret of his desire to work for the Italian team. "Mr Horner is looking for a job – that everybody knows – everywhere," the Frenchman responded. "What can I do? Just try to do my best to push the team."
Vasseur stressed that fielding the same question 25 times a day is an unwelcome distraction for a team fighting for second place in the Constructors' Championship. Tellingly, when asked whether he could see himself working alongside Horner, he wryly told reporters to ask his assistant. Over the eight races that remain this season, Ferrari will look to fend off McLaren, their closest rivals in the standings.
