Raul Rosas Jr., 21, knocked out 39-year-old Raoni Barcelos at 1:38 of the fifth round in their UFC main event, extending his winning streak to six. The 17-year age gap between the two fighters in Las Vegas set a record in UFC history. The decisive moment came during a takedown, when the young fighter slammed his Brazilian opponent hard into the canvas, prompting the referee to stop the contest immediately. Rosas Jr. struck an emotional note after his win: "I want everybody tonight to please pray for Raoni Barcelos. Man, he's a warrior. It takes two to tango."
Knocked unconscious, Barcelos was carried out of the Octagon on a stretcher and taken to a Level I trauma centre. According to an official UFC statement, a CT scan showed the Brazilian to be in a stable condition, conscious and with full movement. The victory was the 13th of Rosas Jr.'s professional career, while the veteran Brazilian suffered his sixth defeat.
