The EuroLeague has confirmed that its 2026-27 season will feature at least 396 games, taking European basketball to a scale it has never reached before. The marathon tips off on 24 September 2026, with newcomers Dubai facing Real Madrid, while reigning champions Olympiacos open the defence of their crown away to Spain's Baskonia. The format and the number of teams stay the same, but there has been one notable change on the roster: Istanbul's Besiktas take the place vacated by Monaco. Organisers have also fine-tuned the calendar, confirming that "Overall, there will be a total of 10 double-round weeks throughout the season", a move aimed at protecting players' health and keeping the standard of play high. The pressure is building. The 38 rounds of the regular season give way to the play-off series at the end of April, where nobody can afford a mistake. It all comes to a head on 30 May 2027, with the grand Final Four.
