The Chicago Bulls have acquired 33-year-old sharpshooter Buddy Hield and cash considerations from the Charlotte Hornets, sending guard Rob Dillingham the other way. Chicago will be the seventh NBA team for the Bahamian marksman, who has made 39.5% of his three-point attempts over his career. "The Hornets shed salary and take a chance on Dillingham's potential as a combo guard, while creating a trade exception in the value of Hield's larger deal," NBA.com wrote in its breakdown of the trade.
The deal hands Charlotte a $9.6 million trade exception and trims their payroll by $3 million. For the young Dillingham, the Hornets are already his third team since February. To stay within the 15-man roster limit, Charlotte are expected to waive Ryan Nembhard and Pat Connaughton shortly.
