Johnny Walker will face Waldo Cortes-Acosta on short notice in the UFC Vegas 124 main event after Sean Brady pulled out of the original headliner. Fresh from a flying-knee knockout of Mick Parkin on his heavyweight debut, the 34-year-old Brazilian flatly rejected the idea of ever meeting his half-brother, Valter Walker, in the Octagon. "No, man. Am I going to fight my own brother? Are you crazy?" Walker scoffed. He stressed just how brutal the sport is. "I go in there to hurt other people. I don't want to hurt my own blood, you know?" Blood is where he draws the line. Fighters, he added, step into the Octagon to destroy one another, which makes such a contest against a family member unthinkable.

Relations between the brothers soured in February 2026, when Valter submitted Zion Clark, a wrestler born without legs, with a choke at Karate Combat 59. At the time, Johnny said publicly that he was ashamed of his brother for beating a defenceless opponent four times lighter than him. Valter is currently on a five-fight winning streak, having finished every one of those bouts by first-round submission.
