Aston Martin's Canadian driver Lance Stroll had a heated exchange with a track marshal after retiring from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the 11th time this season his race has ended early. Fifteen races into the 2026 campaign, the 27-year-old has yet to complete a full race distance. "I'm not waiting here until the end of the race. I'm out of here. Give me the radio," a furious Stroll told the marshal in footage filmed by a fan.
In Baku alone, Aston Martin's drivers were hit with a combined 50-place grid penalty for engine changes, and the car will receive no further upgrades before the end of the year. The Canadian conceded that the team is now focused entirely on the 2027 car and has effectively written off the current season. Stroll's best finish of the year remains 13th place at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
