An Event Without Precedent

June 14. Washington. The South Lawn of the White House. The UFC octagon will stand somewhere it has never stood before. This is no routine Fight Night. This is UFC Freedom 250 — an epic celebration marking both America's 250th anniversary and Donald Trump's 80th birthday, and, at the same time, one of the heaviest, most star-studded cards in the promotion's history.

Dana White first announced the event last year, in the wake of a meeting with Trump. By expert reckoning, it is the first professional sporting tournament ever to be staged at the White House.

It streams on Paramount+ with no pay-per-view attached, and gets under way at 8pm Eastern Time.

Ilia "El Matador" Topuria — 17-0 And Absolute Dominance

His career, in short: three legends, three knockouts, two title belts. In February 2024 he knocked out Alexander Volkanovski. That October, Max Holloway met the same fate. And in June 2025, Charles Oliveira was finished inside the opening round, at the 2:27 mark.

Topuria is the first fighter in UFC history to claim two belts in different divisions back-to-back, and to do it on a run this dominant. All three opponents were legends; all three were left out cold on the canvas. "This kid's a phenomenon," Eddie Alvarez declared.

On June 14 he defends the lightweight title for the first time. The aim is simple: unify the belts and keep a flawless 17-0 record intact. The bookmakers have him as a clear favourite at -455.

Justin "The Highlight" Gaethje — 27-5, A Last Chance

Thirty-seven years old. Out of Arizona. A veteran whose fights are never, ever dull.

A wrestling master — an NCAA Division I All-American — and, before he reached the UFC, the inaugural lightweight champion of the World Series of Fighting. He is chasing the undisputed title for a third time now; after Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira, it is finally Topuria's turn to stand across the cage from him.

On 24 January 2026, at UFC 324, Gaethje outpointed Paddy Pimblett by unanimous decision to strap on the interim lightweight belt for a second time. Five rounds, plenty of blood, and a status fully earned.

The numbers tell their own story: 6.48 significant strikes a minute, landed at 60.25% accuracy. Aggressive pressure, constant forward motion, a character that simply will not take a step back. And that is exactly where the central question lies — is that arsenal enough to short-circuit Topuria's lethal timing? The bookmakers say no, listing him at +350 as the underdog.

The Full Fight Card

The main card lands on Paramount+ from 8pm Eastern Time. At its summit, Ilia Topuria meets Justin Gaethje to unify the lightweight title. One rung below, Alex Pereira faces Cyril Gane for the interim heavyweight crown — and a win for Pereira would crown him the first three-division champion in UFC history. Sean O'Malley takes on Aiman Zahabi at bantamweight, while Mauricio Ruffy and Michael Chandler collide at lightweight. Bo Nickal squares up to Kyle Daukaus at middleweight, Diego Lopes meets Steve Garcia at featherweight, and a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Josh Hokit, a late addition, rounds the card off.

Clash Of Styles — The Main Intrigue

Two styles. Two philosophies. Topuria brings sniper-like precision, immaculate timing and concussive knockout power. Gaethje brings the squeeze — pressure, blood and a forward march that never relents. One man dismantles legends; the other is a war veteran in his own right.

Topuria has already claimed that Gaethje's open, forward-driven approach will only make his job easier, and that the fight will be over quickly. Gaethje, for his part, has vowed to "rearrange the champion's face" once the cage door shuts.

June 14. The White House lawn. America's 250 years. On this historic night the winner walks away with more than a title, because a special, exclusively designed belt has been forged for this very clash. This is no ordinary championship strap; it is the emblem of UFC Freedom 250 and one of the most precious artefacts in the history of the sport.
