Erik ten Hag has said the constant criticism from Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, all former Manchester United players turned pundits, irritated players in the Old Trafford dressing room. "I have to say, I had a very good relationship with them all, with Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand... Sometimes it's difficult for players. Some of them get affected by it, get annoyed by it," the former United manager told The Athletic. He added that the same happens at Bayern Munich and Ajax.
The 56-year-old, who left United in October 2024 and lasted just three matches at Bayer Leverkusen in 2025, is now technical director at FC Twente.
