Ahead of Formula 1's United States Grand Prix, British company Sentronics Holdings Ltd has filed a federal lawsuit against Allengra GmbH, the exclusive supplier of ultrasonic fuel flow sensors. Sentronics was the FIA's exclusive supplier from 2018 to 2025, but the German firm won the tender for 2026-2030. The case was lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and concerns an alleged infringement of U.S. Patent No. 11,391,609. The British side claims its German rival unlawfully used Sentronics' patented phase-modulated ultrasonic signal technology.

Sentronics is seeking treble damages from Allengra GmbH and a permanent ban on Allengra supplying the sensors in the United States. No request for an emergency temporary injunction was filed, meaning the race at the Circuit of The Americas will go ahead with Allengra's sensors. Notably, the FIA received formal notice from the British company as early as 17 September 2025.
