The Miami Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 129-105 at the Videotron Centre in the first NBA game ever played in Quebec City, a pre-season fixture watched by 18,474 fans. Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković left star forward Kawhi Leonard out of his line-up, insisting he would not rush the two-time NBA Finals MVP into action. For Miami, Giannis Antetokounmpo made his debut following his trade from the Milwaukee Bucks, scoring nine points from the starting five.
Toronto's aggressive defence forced 25 turnovers, yet the Canadian side's own offence was riddled with problems. The Raptors made just 29 per cent of their three-point attempts and conceded 13 offensive rebounds to the Heat. Toronto will continue training camp at home before heading to the West Coast.
