After finishing third at the World Cup, England manager Thomas Tuchel has made eight changes to his 27-man squad for four Nations League fixtures, bringing Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea forward Cole Palmer back into the fold. For Alexander-Arnold it is a first call-up since the summer of 2025, a gap that owed much to Tuchel's earlier insistence that the defender did not fit the profile he wanted in that position — a stance the German has now evidently softened. Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden misses out altogether. Assessing the form of his younger attackers, Tuchel noted that Palmer had rediscovered the numbers that once defined him, the assists and the decisive goals, and had therefore earned a proper chance to stake his claim. Alexander-Arnold, the manager stressed, faces serious competition for a starting berth. During the three-week camp England will face Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
