Lewis Hamilton has found himself in the firing line of the Italian media after finishing sixth at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The 41-year-old Briton, a seven-time Formula One world champion, now trails Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, the championship leader, by 103 points, a deficit that has all but extinguished his title hopes. "He has zero desire to talk. He has no desire to be anywhere else," one Italian newspaper wrote of his state of mind. "Something's off in Hamilton's mood."
Charles Leclerc's fourth place and the poor marks handed to Hamilton exposed the divisions within the team even more starkly. Over the radio, the Briton complained of a shortage of electrical energy, yet the press has accused him of blaming his engineers without good reason. For all the turmoil behind the scenes, Ferrari still hold second place in the Constructors' Championship on 378 points.
