France's highest court has definitively ruled that Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi will stand trial on a rape charge, rejecting an appeal lodged by the player's defence team in a bid to have the case dismissed and formally clearing the way for proceedings to begin. According to the case file, the Morocco international is accused over an incident in Paris in which, prosecutors allege, he sexually assaulted a woman, as reported by the Spanish outlet El Periódico Mediterráneo. The trial is expected to take place in the coming months, and if convicted, Hakimi faces several years in prison.
