“As soon as the crisis is brought under control the government should plan to hold the two board exams at an appropriate time,” Shelar informed the current education minister Varsha Gaikwad who had called him to consult on what the government should do with regard to these two critical examinations. Gaikwad has been holding consultations with various stakeholders. The examinations have already been delayed on account of the pandemic.
Shelar said the health of students was paramount and at the same time the government also needs to think about their academic wellbeing. He suggested the exams could be conducted partly online and partly offline. “The government should not waste much time and take a decision immediately so that there is no anxiety amongst parents and students,” he said.
