Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick delivered an injury update ahead of the final preseason game against the Denver Nuggets, confirming that Ziaire Williams and Adou Thiero had come through full practice sessions. Veteran guard Collin Sexton, recovering from a right leg injury, is working through an individual programme and closing in on a return for the season opener. Cameron Carr remains sidelined.
Time is running out. Before the regular season opens against the Golden State Warriors, general manager Rob Pelinka must trim the number of players on guaranteed contracts from 16 to 15. Dalton Knecht, Bronny James, Jaden Hardy and Jarred Vanderbilt have all been mentioned as possible departures, and Pelinka has indicated that a two-for-one trade is possible. The Lakers will finalise their roster before the Warriors game.
